The perch fishing seems to be an all or nothing venture on Big Stone Lake lately. When the anglers find the perch they get their limit some days it is tough to find them mostly due to weather conditions (wind) making if very difficult to hold your boat on a specific spot.

One boat came in yesterday with a nice batch of bluegill. Despite the south wind over 20 mph they were able to anchor up on a spot and did well.

Walleye fishing is also reported as mixed results. A few anglers go out and pull crankbaits for a bottom bouncer spinner combination and do well. Others struggle with what mother nature has been throwing at us lately.

October is fast approaching and many are looking forward to some nice CALM Indian summer days to set the hook. Donna Schmidts Landing
